I have been seriously studying photography for a little over a year now. I have loved taking pictures for years, but before I took my first class I was a confirmed "Program/Auto Mode" photographer. That means I let the camera make all the decisions and had to live with whatever the results were. While I am still learning to take charge of my camera, I now understand what basic elements are needed to create a pleasing photograph.
