Glimpses of Arizona

Two weeks ago I traveled to Arizona to visit a friend. What a lovely time of year to be in the desert! It was in the mid-70s all week with blue, blue sky. I didn't realize how much I needed the getaway until I was there. Now my friend may have to host me at her place more often than she counted on!
Here are some (unedited) glimpses of the trip:
A sunrise walk

After our walk, my friend took me to "The Coffee Shop" for a milk steamer and a cupcake. The owners competed on the television show "Cupcake Wars". They actually won and were able to meet Duff from "Ace of Cakes". What a fun field trip!

We spent an evening at The Boulders resort walking their grounds and having a delicious dinner

Getting Crafty

When Summer heads somewhere else in the world and Fall creeps its way into my life, I start feeling an itch to make crafts. I am not sure if I have conditioned myself to feel this or if it happens all on it's own. But it happens. I also start wanting heartier meals, snugglie sweaters, and great books!

Yesterday my friend April and I made some Halloween advent "calendars". Really they are blocks that allow the kiddos to count down the days until it's CANDY TIME :)

While the moms were getting crafty, the little girls created their own fun. We heard giggling and looked over to see both girls under one of the living room side tables having a great time! I am not sure what was so engaging about being there, but they thought it was exciting.

Friends

One of my girlfriends had a birthday this week. A few of us met for lunch. I always feel happy when I take some time to be with my girl friends. After lunch, the birthday girl asked if we could take a few photos together. That was so fun! I am sure passersby thought we were a little crazy, but it felt so refreshing to just laugh. Women really do need other women in their lives. I am thankful for ALL of my friends (near and far) that make my life brighter.

Female Bonding

During our Spring Break trip we made time for some female bonding.

Aren't we just stunning? We were so into the movie "New Moon" that the camera captured our red, vampire eyes.




















Why walk between the cabin and camper when you can hitch a ride?




















It isn't everyday that you have to pull over on your snowmobile to let a musher and his dog team pass. In fact, this was the first time for me and it was a sight to see.




















Not a bad spot to take a break, is it? We sure have an amazingly beautiful world.
