It's been awhile

Summer has flown by and I know I haven't kept up with the blog AT ALL. I've been playing with my kids and relaxing as much as possible before life gets busy again when school starts.

I hope to get a few pictures posted of what we have been up to. I have made an important decision lately. I am only going to do a maximum of one portrait session every month or so. I love taking pictures, but the editing I do not love nor do I have the time to do this without my family suffering. I want this to stay a pleasant hobby and not a demanding job.

With that said, here are a few photos I took of my friend's new baby today.

 

Isn't she adorable? It was an impromptu photo shoot (very low-key) but I am pleased with how it turned out. Photographing newborns is a dangerous business. I always have a moment of wishing I had another one of these little people in my house. But then the moment passes, I give the sweet bundle back to it's parents, and go take a nap!

A Recent Photo Shoot

My life has been extra busy lately. Even too busy to blog (which I really enjoy doing)! I did want to share a few photos of a little angel that visited my house over the week-end. Isn't she perfect?

Besides photographing her, I did get a few snuggles and squeezes in. She is so soft and huggable! This was my last official photo shoot until Autumn. I am going to spend the next several months taking pictures of my own family while we enjoy Spring and Summer- yay!

Adorableness

Here are a few recent photos I have taken. I have been trying out regular color, a "browner" black & white, and color boosting. I've included samples of each.

Tutu Girls

I had the pleasure of assisting in a photo shoot last week at my house. A friend of mine wanted to help a mutual friend of ours get some advertising photos of her new product line. These products happen to be adorable TUTUS!

Handsome Guy

Besides having my own babies, I was present for the birth of one of my nephews. I will never forget the feeling I felt seeing a new person enter the world. There really aren't words for how amazing it is. There is a part of me that would love to be a "doula" and help bring babies into the world. Since I don't see a career change in my future, I am very happy to be able to take photographs of other's little ones.
This little man was a joy to photograph! He was so happy and serene.

On Location

I have an awesome step-son, Troy. He is about to leave on a big travel adventure. I am glad we took portraits of him before he leaves.

We have old mine ruins near our home. I knew these would make an interesting background for his portraits.

Maternity

I had the opportunity to shoot maternity portraits last week. My model was lovely! Her father was a photographer when she was a child, so she was very comfortable in front of the camera.

Can you believe she is almost at her due date?! I never looked this amazing when I was pregnant.
