A New Tradition & An Old Nativity

My amazing mother-in-law recently sent this advent calendar:

I am completely blown away with it's awesomeness! What a loving, handmade gift. Our girls take turns moving Joseph and Mary closer to Bethlehem each day. Every piece has many layers of felt and lots of color and detail. Thank you Grandma for a gift we will use and treasure year after year!

Here is our Nativity Scene that we have used since our first Christmas back in 1994:

Baby Jesus suffered a broken arm when our oldest daughter was two. She kept swiping him from the stable, wrapping him in a tissue and would place him around the house. One day that happened to be on the stairs and I stepped on him. Fortunately a dab of super glue fixed little Jesus. When I see the tiny line on his arm I am reminded of a precocious toddler who was worried about Baby Jesus getting cold.
