Desert Snapshots

Here are a few glimpses into our Tucson/Phoenix trip last week. The desert was uncommonly green due to all of the rainfall. We had a wonderful getaway!

I thought these quail were so cute! Reuben told me they are tasty :(

The old house in the foreground was once the home Reuben's grandfather lived in.

We drove up Mt. Lemmon to about 8000 ft. The changes in terrain were fascinating. We especially loved the rock formations AND watching all of the locals sledding and having snowball fights. Even in Arizona we seek out the snow- there must be something wrong with us!

We toured Sabino Canyon via a trolley. We were told the river dries up for 6 weeks each year. As you can see, the rain has created a generous flow.

I have never exhibited allergies of any kind. Interestingly, the moment we landed in AZ my nose started itching. The next day my eyes began to feel sensitive. By our last day in AZ my skin was itchy and breaking out. I told Reuben I must be part amphibian from living in a rain forest for most of my life and I was drying out. Although I loved visiting AZ, I don't think my body is ready to move there.

2 amazing observations:
