Selective Color

A fun photo editing technique I learned in photoshop is "selective color". You simply use your selection wand to encircle what you want to keep in its original form, then desaturate the rest of the photo. Very cool.
I should mention here that I have what I like to call my "living Help Button" (aka my son Reid) ready to assist me whenever I feel a bit over my head in photoshop. I have been avoiding learning how to use this program for years out of sheer anxiety that I couldn't possibly figure it out.
It seemed way too complicated.
I am happy to report that by taking a introductory digital photography class AND having my "Help Button" living in my house, I am beginning to chip away at my ignorance and unfounded photoshop phobias. Okay, maybe phobia is too strong of a word. Slight terror sounds better.
